God has great things planned for the Great Plains

Lay Servant Ministries

9/23/2015

Lay Servant Ministries has been a big part of my life for many years. I began as a Certified Lay Speaker in the early 1980s and have preached, pastored and been active in the church ever since.

In 1999, I became a licensed local pastor and served until I retired last year.  Now I am a member and appointed to the Allen UMC in the Elkhorn Valley District.  My husband and I farm near Allen. We have two married adult children and five grandchildren, and all live close to us. My hobbies are reading, quilting, gardening and teaching Lay Servant Ministry classes.

I look forward to an exciting future for Lay Servant Ministries, getting to know district leaders while seeking new opportunities and possibilities for lay persons.

I believe God has great ministries planned for the Great Plains Conference. Thank you to Mary Feit, our conference Lay Servant Ministries director, and all those who will be a part of this great adventure.

May God be praised!

Carol Jean Stapleton is Lay Servant Ministries director for the Elkhorn Valley District in northeast Nebraska.
