Out of anyone in the world (living or deceased), who would you most like to have dinner with?

I would most like to have dinner with Malala Yousafzai. She has exhibited bravery and wisdom beyond that which is expected of someone her age. She is a visionary for all people of our time, and she is a champion for women's rights in not just the developing world, but for the whole world.

 

What is the best advice you have ever received?

To be as unashamedly myself as I can be.

         Katie Gehrt

Katie is a 20-year-old sophomore at Kansas State University studying secondary education/English and leadership studies. Katie's home church is LifeBridge UMC in De Soto, Kansas.

Maya Angelou. I've really enjoyed reading some of her books; I would love to ask her questions about her own experiences and what led her to some of the contributions she made.

What is the best advice you have ever received?

To treat every person that I came into contact with as if I would never see them again. It taught me a lot about the person I wanted to be received as and what I wanted each and every interaction to be like.

Malcolm X or Tupac. With the issues of racial profiling and crime against people of color, it would very interesting to see their point of view on today's current situation.

When you're up against trouble, meet it squarely, face to face.

My grandfather. He passed away the summer before my ninth grade year and I would have love to have one more dinner with him before I graduated from high school.

If somebody wants to walk out of your life, let them go!
