If you are willing to be involved in the early days following a disaster … come to this training!
SPIRITUAL AND EMOTIONAL CARE TRAINING
"A disaster affects the entire fabric of community that existed prior to the event and can cause traumatic stress among the whole community. Disaster recovery is in large part the rebuilding of community, the re-tying of the thousands of strands of relationship in the fabric of our being together that have been severed by the disaster." (The Rev. John A. Robinson, Jr.)
The Great Plains United Methodist Conference Disaster Response Ministry recognizes the impact that disasters have on all individuals involved, from first responders, to volunteers, to survivors, and beyond. We also recognize the need for standardized training through UMCOR. This training will enable you to be God’s presence to the helpless and the troubled in the midst of disaster.
Registration fee covers course materials, snacks, lunch and instructor travel costs.
