Volunteers in Mission (VIM) provides opportunities for service through the United Methodist Church. The goal is to provide short-term mission experiences for individuals, groups and congregations that allow for the expression of faith in action.
Mission experiences are available at international, national and local venues for youth and adults. For a list of opportunities please select from MINISTRIES at the top of this page and then Mission Trips & Volunteer Opportunities.
Congregations in the Missouri River District can take a VIM trip in their own backyard. United Methodist Ministries, Missouri River District, is an accredited VIM site and can provide congregations and groups the opportunity to participate in local community changing missions and justice work. Group mission experience packages are available for one-day, overnight or up to five days. Mission experiences are tailored for each group but include a combination of labor and learning with local agencies dedicated to community changes.
United Methodist Ministries also regularly schedules one day Missouri River District VIM mission events for churches to participate and get a taste of risk-taking missions and justice work. It is the perfect opportunity to get people involved who have limited time to participate in mission experiences.
