BeADisciple is a community of people who are invested in becoming better Christian disciples. Courses are conducted in small groups with a trained facilitator or a certified instructor, so learners and instructors have an opportunity to get to know one another. Groups begin together, progress through materials, and end together. Individual learners participate at the time of day that works best for their schedule and are not required to be online at the same time as other learners. Our courses are open to anyone, and there’s no membership fee to be a part of our community — simply enroll in a course that interests you!

Mutual Aid Association

The Great Plains Mutual Aid Association’s purpose is to provide a Sympathy Expressing Gift whenever a member dies. All active and retired clergy and their spouses in our Annual Conference are welcome to join the membership. When a members dies the other members get an obituary of the deceased person and a request to send $5 to the Secretary/Treasurer who is Rev. Robert “Bob“ Neben. To a deceased relative the Secretary/Treasurer sends a check of around $1,700 along with a list of Mutual Aid Association members who contributed the money. This is great way to remember a fellow minister or spouse when they die and to show sympathy for their family.

If you are interested in joining the Great Plains Mutual Aid Association, fill out the application found on the brochure and give or mail to Robert “Bob” Neben, 1610 N. 87th Street, Lincoln, NE 68505.  Cellphone 402-499-3636 or send an email.

Members of the Great Plains Mutual Aid Association are invited to our Business Meeting, which will be held during Annual Conference. This meeting will be held on Friday, June 10 around noon in the Manhattan II Room at the La Vista Conference Center, which is at 12520 Westport Pkwy, LaVista, NE 68128. Because this is a noon meeting you will need to arrange for your own lunch. Items at our Business Meeting will be the election of officers, the setting of the sympathy expressing gift amount, setting of the per call contribution amount, setting of the Sec./Treas. stipend, and talking about how to recruit new members. The Caring Congregation

The Caring Congregation (TCC) trains church leaders how to provide excellent care ministry. Our method of care is based on a team approach that empowers both pastors and laity (serving as Congregational Care Ministers or CCMs) working together to support the congregation and community. This method was developed by Rev. Karen Lampe while previously serving as Executive Pastor of Congregational Care at Church of the Resurrection, in Leawood, Kansas, and is scalable for churches of all sizes.

TCC provides a variety of care ministry training and resources to help you develop a culture of care in your church. These opportunities include: seminars, webinars, podcasts, and online classes based on books by Revs. Karen Lampe and Melissa Collier-Gepford. In collaboration with the Discipleship Ministries of the United Methodist Church, we offer a CLM Specialization in Congregational Care for Lay Servant Ministry. We also have e-learning courses in The Caring Congregation Academy, four seasons of podcasts on current topics related to care ministry.
