The United Methodist Health Ministry Fund, created with proceeds from the sale of Wesley Hospital in 1986, works to fulfill its mission of Healthy Kansans through strategic and cooperative philanthropy guided by Christian principles. The Health Fund defines health as a state of complete physical, mental, spiritual, and social well-being and not mere absence of disease or infirmity (adapted from World Health Organization definition).
The Health Fund’s Healthy Congregations program engages Great Plains United Methodist churches in projects to improve spiritual, physical, social, and emotional health in their congregations and communities. The Healthy Congregations program provides training, resources, and financial support to Great Plains United Methodist churches committed to health ministry.
