Wesley House is an outreach mission for people in crisis founded by the Pittsburg First United Methodist Church in 1982. Wesley House believes in feeding the body and the soul. Wesley House believes in an ecumenical ministry, which serves clients throughout Crawford County. Catholic Charities is in-house offering financial assistance, Marriage for Keeps, case management and Getting Ahead classes. Staff includes an executive pastor, administrative assistant and numerous volunteers. Programs and the availability of emergency assistance are dependent on donations.
What They Do
Wesley House provides emergency assistance to clients as well as serves as an advocate for those in need. They have a food pantry, which is open Monday-Friday afternoons, Tuesday morning cooking classes, Thursday night community meal and a monthly movie night. Wesley House also has free public showers and laundry facilities. On Sunday mornings, they offer Sunday school at 9:30 a.m., fellowship at 10:30 a.m. and worship at 11 am.
Wesley House also has five special projects throughout the year. These programs include Children’s Summer Food, Fans, Back to School, Cozy Kids and Christmas Distribution.
