Many of you may be wondering where I am- am I still in the U.S? In transit to China? Or already in China?
While Amity’s goal was for me to depart like…today, that is clearly not the case. :) Due to complications in obtaining work visas, it was decided that attaining a tourist visa to China would be permissible to get me there, then once in China, it would be easier to get a work visa. Therefore, the past few days have been a whirlwind of emails, online applications, and endless questions- but finally the information has been collected and sent off!
The new plan is to leave on Friday August 15th. While I will be missing a week of training with Amity, it is a relief to have more time to pack and say goodbyes.
I am ever so grateful for the endless prayers of serenity during this time. Despite the chaos, I have felt an inner peace amidst it all. Maybe it is the jet lag or the fact that much of this is not in my control, whatever it is, God is providing peace.
Be at peace.
