Project Summary

Did your project go as expected?
It went very well, as expected.

Which of the 5 earmarks of Culture of Call did this project address? How?
  • Discernment events/experiences - yes
  • Personal exploration - yes
  • Mentoring - yes
  • Spiritual nurture - yes
  • Community expression of supporting individual calls - yes
How did you use the funds?
We chose a youth in the congregation to be the summer intern. She assisted with congregational worship on Sunday mornings, prepared and helped present Children's zoom classes, participated and led Bible studies at a long-term care facility, and took Lay Servant classes.

Will the project that you undertook be continued? How?
The youth will continue to be active in the local church, and would like to participate in the Culture of Call Grant again next year.

How did this project cultivate a culture of call in your church or district?
The intern definitely matured in her faith and was able to see how she could use her God-given gifts in the church and community.

How were people impacted through the project?
Children were able to participate in biweekly zoom classes that related to the Sunday morning services. Residents of a local long-term facility participated in Bible studies. Those who came to Sunday morning services or watched online could see a youth involved in Sunday morning worship.

How did you tell the story of your project?
We shared stories on Sunday morning and in our monthly church newsletter.

What could you share about this project with others?
It was a great experience where the intern, the congregation and the pastor learned together.
