Conference Council on Youth Ministries (CCYM) supports the youth ministries of local churches and districts of the Great Plains Conference of the United Methodist Church.

Check out this year's CCYM leaders! The CCYM are working on Connect Events, The One Event, opportunities for youth at Annual Conference and Youth 2019. They are also exploring youth ministries in each district and how to best resource churches from the district they represent. If you know of a youth who would like to represent the district, encourage them to apply below.

As the school year begins, please pray for the youth leaders all across our conference who are inviting and discipling students to follow after Christ.

Become a leader

The Conference Council on Youth Ministries (CCYM) is looking for student leaders who are willing to step up and serve their peers during the 2018-2019 term, which begins July 1, 2018 and continues through June 30, 2019. The mission of CCYM is to support the youth ministries of the local churches and the districts of the Great Plains Conference of the United Methodist Church. Being a member of the CCYM is a servant-leadership role. It guarantees that you will work hard and serve others.

Members of the CCYM commit a great deal of time to this ministry, but they also benefit in many ways. They get to plan events from beginning to end and get to work behind the scenes to make those events happen. They also make lasting friendships, become better leaders, and grow in their faith along the way.

Members of the CCYM:

  • Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Must be an active member of a United Methodist Church in the Great Plains Conference.
  • Must attend all CCYM meetings. Meetings are held throughout the year at locations throughout Nebraska and Kansas.
  • Must attend The OneEvent or other similar major youth event sponsored by the CCYM.
  • Must be a student in grades 9-12 during the 2018-2019 academic year.
  • Must have the permission and support of his/her parent(s).

Make no mistake, this is a big commitment! If you’re interested, please talk it over with God and with your parents and then complete the online application. Your application will be sent to the coordinator of your district council on youth ministries. Each district will nominate two students to represent them on the CCYM. Additional students may be chosen as at-large members.
