St. Paul's UMC in North Dakota seeks director of children and youth ministry


St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Jamestown, North Dakota, is looking to enhance its ministry to children and youth by hiring a part-time director of children and youth ministry. Jamestown is a stable community in east-central North Dakota with a population of around 15,500. The church has an average attendance of 170 at worship with 40-50 children and youth participating in Sunday morning Sunday school, youth group and other family-oriented events/activities.
The director of children and youth ministry will serve under the direction of the senior pastor with assistance from the Christian education committee. St. Paul’s wants to do the very best ministry possible in spreading God’s love in Christ through teaching, serving, music and missions. The church strives to make Jesus the center of the lives of families, children and youth in the Jamestown area.
The right candidate for this position:

  • Must be a faithful and growing follower of Jesus Christ
  • Must have a strong United Methodist or Wesleyan background
  • Must have experience in leading children’s and youth ministries
  • Completed Christian education or general education credits
  • Be good at delegating
  • Willing to be flexible with working hours
