Today's Lectionary TextPsalm 91:9-16Because you have made the Lord your refuge, For he will command his angels concerning you Those who love me, I will deliver; Today's Devotional
I think we can all think of at least one time when we’ve wondered, “Where are you God?”.
During these times, I try and remember verse 15. When they call to me, I will answer them; I will be with them in trouble,. That last bit is key for me. He will be with me in trouble. As Christian’s we aren’t promised an easy road. It’s easy for me to forget that people today are still dying professing our faith. Still some sectors of Christianity will say that if we are facing trouble we have done something to anger God. I don’t believe that. My God promises to be knee, neck, or over the head in trouble with me, right in the thick of it waiting for me to remember to look for him and lean on him. I remember the Lord says he will rescue. That tells me he knows we are going to need his help. He will call on me and I will answer him. What love to always be there, ready to answer our call! Dear heavenly father, thank you for being with us in the trouble. An easy road isn’t promised to us, but your presence in the journey is assured. Lisa Soukup Communications Administrative Assistant |
