Daniel 2:26-30
The king asked Daniel, “Can you tell me my dream and what it means?”
Daniel answered:
Your Majesty, not even the smartest person in all the world can do what you are demanding. But the God who rules from heaven can explain mysteries. And while you were sleeping, he showed you what will happen in the future. However, you must realize that these mysteries weren’t explained to me because I am smarter than everyone else. Instead, it was done so that you would understand what you have seen.
Psalm 72:1
Please help the king
to be honest and fair
just like you, our God.
Let him be honest and fair
with all your people,
especially the poor.
Lord God of Israel,
we praise you.
Only you can work miracles.
Ephesians 5:18-20
......let the Spirit fill your life. When you meet together, sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, as you praise the Lord with all your heart. Always use the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to thank God the Father for everything.
My elder son and his wife are expecting their first child. I am very excited to be a grandmother. The verses quoted above are examples of how to live in a way that filters all actions through praise and love.
I expect to be proud of the new person joining our family just as I would have been proud to be the mother of any of King Solomon, Daniel or Paul.
Solomon sought God to teach him to be a king who sought honest and fair. He gave praise to God for making his dream possible.
Daniel was brave enough to speak up to save the lives of his fellow prophets. He gave God the credit for providing someone to help the king understand his future by telling the king the troubling and forgotten dream about the future of Babylon.
Paul repeatedly encourages those who follow Christ to praise God with enthusiasm And to always give thanks.
