Today's Lectionary Text

Psalm 90:1-6

LORD, you have been our dwelling place throughout all generations. Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the whole world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God. You turn people back to dust, saying, "Return to dust, you mortals." A thousand years in your sight are like a day that has just gone by, or like a watch in the night. Yet you sweep people away in the sleep of death- they are like the new grass of the morning: In the morning it springs up new, but by evening it is dry and withered.

Today's Devotional

A prayer of Moses the man of God brings us Psalm 90:1-6. A Psalm that reveals to us that God is in control. Like those who walked before God in the past, now the present, and soon to be in the future, we look to God for all our needs. At times, some of our needs seem to be insurmountable, yet the Lord provides and shows us the way.

We have the choice in our journey to look to God for all things, some things or no help at all. The Lord has given us a choice. That is the kind of God that we have. Yet in making those decisions about our journey in this life is so important. Even though the road that we travel with God is narrow, the way is shown by the Holy Spirit to keep us on the right path.

In our thoughts, prayers and conversations with God, let us remember that He is in control. The creation is His and we are a part of it. We are so blessed to have the opportunity to serve the Lord of all.
