Today's Lectionary TextMatthew 11:28-30Come to me, all you who are struggling hard and carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest. Put on my yoke, and learn from me. I’m gentle and humble. And you will find rest for yourselves. My yoke is easy to bear, and my burden is light![]() Today's Devotional
This scripture asks us to accept the leadership that Christ offers us. But some of us are afraid that if we say “yes” our future with God will become burdensome, and so we shy away from interacting with God.
Due to the pandemic, the year 2020 has been the most difficult year in many people’s memories. Still, the season of giving is upon us. Plenty of people still need what we have to offer. Therefore, we might be asked to give to others in ways that are less satisfying than usual. Meanwhile, the things we look forward to might be cancelled. We might be entering the most difficult Holiday Season ever. So, I recommend that you interact with God, every minute of every day as much as you can (because God loves you). Listen to what God has to say to you. Allow God to direct your holiday activities this year. Let God love you. Then, let God love others by doing what God empowers you to do. This will not be a burden. It will be a blessing. |
