Today's Lectionary Text

2 Corinthians 6:1-5

As we work together with him, we urge you also not to accept the grace of God in vain. For he says,

“At an acceptable time I have listened to you,
    and on a day of salvation I have helped you.”

See, now is the acceptable time; see, now is the day of salvation! We are putting no obstacle in anyone’s way, so that no fault may be found with our ministry, but as servants of God we have commended ourselves in every way: through great endurance, in afflictions, hardships, calamities, beatings, imprisonments, riots, labors, sleepless nights, hunger;

Today's Devotional

Not yesterday, not in the future…This Day!!!!! Isaiah 49:8 I tell you that the “right time” is now, and the “day of salvation” is now. This tells me that when we need Gods help…he’s just waiting for us to acknowledge Him “while he is there all the time.”

I’ve known persons who say “someday” I’ll get right with God. One had the misconception that someday he might be good enough to “get saved”, and the other said, I already have everything I want out so why do I need Jesus.

PRAY-LOOK-LISTEN. LISTEN-PRAY- LOOK-PRAY-LISTEN. Don’t over think an opportunity to reach out to someone in the Lord’s behalf, especially when you feel a nudge in that direction. We must trust God, my friends.

Let us, then, feel very sure that we can come before God’s throne. There we can receive mercy and grace to help us on the day we need it … on this day … God gives us ample grace for the moment!

Here's a big question: How can others sense God’s presence in us so that there is witness to needing His grace? The Spirit of Christ is characterized by the fruit as that of the Holy Spirit – love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control- others will sense the presence of God when our life shows these characteristics.

I’ve shared this before, but I like to preach it to me: Your talk talks and your walk talks -- but your walk talks louder than your talk talks!

Help me Lord be a walking witness to furnish encouragement or helps even when I am not aware of the need. Amen.
