Today's Lectionary Text

Matthew 11:28-30

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Today's Devotional

Take a deep breath.  In for four counts.  Out for four counts.

Relax your jaw and lower your tongue off the roof of your mouth.  You didn't know it was there, did you?

Breathe in thankfulness.  Close your eyes and think of everything that you are grateful and thankful for today.  Now thank God for all of those things you listed.

Take another deep breath -- In for four counts.  Out for four counts.

Lower your shoulders and round them back.  Offer to God those things that are on your heart.  Your joys first followed by your concerns.

One more deep breath.  In for four counts.  Out for four counts.

Go grab a breakfast beverage and start your day in this new way if only for today.

Prayer for Reflection

Father God,  thank you for always being with us.  Help us to remember to stop, take deep breaths and give thanks for all that you provide.
