Today's Lectionary Text

John 20:24-28

But Thomas (who was called the Twin), one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord.” But he said to them, “Unless I see the mark of the nails in his hands, and put my finger in the mark of the nails and my hand in his side, I will not believe.”

A week later his disciples were again in the house, and Thomas was with them. Although the doors were shut, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you.” Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here and see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it in my side. Do not doubt but believe.” Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!”

Today's Devotional

Do you love your family? Do you love your friends? Do you love your neighbors? How do you let them know that you love them? Some of you may say “I love you” or “I care for you.” What else? Some of you may show something tangible out of your love as well as saying “I love you.” You may do some small kindness for your family, friends, and neighbors. You may cook for them, you may support their life decision quietly, you may share a gift with them.

When you love someone, you say I love you. Depending on your personality, you may not say directly “I love you.” But you still say something encouraging, supporting, and warm words. Also, you make efforts to show your heart to them. You let them feel your love and your heart. When someone cooks for you, you not only enjoy the food, you are also touched by their heart. You can feel, you can touch their love as you eat the food prepared by them. We have Thanksgiving this month. When you get together with family and friends and share foods, it is not only foods you share but also love you share with one another.

Likewise, love is something you can experience, touch and feel. That is what Jesus does for you. Jesus let you feel, experience and touch His love throughout your daily lives. Let us discover His love in our life situations today.
