Great Plains Daily Devotional for 2/22/2022

Matthew 19:14

But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

I was a little young to be going to a bible club for kids, but my older sister was going and I was allowed to participate.  The kids were to memorize verses and the lady in charge would ask who could recite a particular verse.  I learned one verse - this one and only the first part - and whenever she mentioned Matthew 19:14, I would raise my hand and she knew this was the only one I had memorized so she would call on me.  I thought it was a wonderful verse, Jesus wanting children, even though I did not understand why the word suffer was in there - I got the message that he wanted children. It was a happy thought.
