Senator Danner introduced numerous bills that made discrimination on the basis of skin color illegal. In 1965, Danner's bill creating Nebraska's Fair Employment Act was passed. He also co-sponsored the fair housing practices bill which passed in 1969. It established the Nebraska Equal Opportunity Commission to investigate civil rights violations.
