This Course is designed to help you more fully develop an intentional pathway of discipleship in your unique context.
As your presenters, our prayer is that you are inspired and practically equipped to grow both as a disciple of Jesus, and simultaneously as a maker of disciples for Jesus!
We’re praying for you and cheering you on!

Jesus calls every person to come be His disciple. “Follow me!” is His repeated blunt call to the first disciples - and to each one of us!
Yet His call doesn’t stop there. Biblically, there is no such thing as a disciple of Jesus who doesn’t go and make other disciples.
We are blessed to be a blessing.
We are called to Jesus, and immediately He starts sending us out to reach our lost neighbors.
Remember, it is as we go that our most impactful growth as disciples will occur. Discipleship and mission are inextricably tied together.
Neither discipleship nor mission are sustainable when done without the empowering of the Holy Spirit. For without an active dependence on the Spirit, we stumble into striving, legalism, or ritual that substitutes for relationship.
This is why this Course is called SOW: Season of Witness. As Jesus sows into us, we can immediately go and sow into others, to His glory!
The SOW: Season of Witness Course will also give a simple pathway for you to take in discipling others.
Does this Course cover everything someone needs to grow in as a disciple? Of course not! There is limitless growth available to each of us (and bear in mind that we will continue growing, maturing, and flourishing in heaven, so this is an eternal journey!).
However, having worked with scores of churches and thousands of leaders, one pattern we see repeated again and again is that most churches lack a simple, clear process to form disciples.
This Course will give you 7 foundational steps to form disciples who are able to go and start making other disciples THIS WEEK!
Practically, there are 7 parts to the SOW: Season of WItness Course:
Each part contains a teaching video, which itself has a natural break about halfway through where we give you a processing topic to discuss.
Alongside the video, you’ll see there is a handout (for note-taking) and a separate list of discussion questions.
In order to make the greatest impact, the critical piece is to do the homework at the end of every session - and to then make your group discuss it next time you gather, before you watch the new video!
You’ll see that the assignments are practical and related to grounding the learning into each of our personal contexts. This is the opposite of ‘busy work’!
By taking time to process what happened, what went well, what didn’t, where people became stuck or fearful or energized or fruitful, you will all learn from one another. So never skip on the homework review.
If people don’t engage with the homework, make sure you stop and find out why. Encourage them to join in, putting into practice what is being taught. Unless we live out the content, it will be of little lasting value.
While there are 7 sessions, and probably most groups will cover this content over 7 weeks, you could take two weeks over each topic. Alternatively, some churches might want to show some of the teaching video during their weekend service, and create spaces for processing either then or midweek.
