For Your Life

Announcement

The impact of the Coronavirus pandemic has disrupted much of our typical day-to-day life, both personally and in the life of the church. Every leadership skill that clergy have developed in the past has been utilized, and new needs have emerged for many clergy. And, while it’s always been important to minister out of a depth of a relationship with Christ, it’s never been as critical as it is now to be rooted and grounded in the love of Christ. For your Life: Giving your soul time and means to grow has shifted to a virtual version of our retreat and will introduce you to the framework for creating a Learning Plan, give you resources, guide you in worship, and most importantly, give you space to spend time in solo reflection and/or connection with others. Participants will join by Zoom. We encourage you to join us from a place that you can have space to create an environment for reflection and rest for the whole time of the virtual retreat. While we will be meeting for worship, conversation, and feedback, the retreat will include several videos that will provide instruction and guidance for your solo work. The expectation is that you will be able to be fully engaged to the work of the For Your Life retreat during the length of the time we’ve identified, even if you are meeting from your home. The cost to participate in the For Your Life virtual retreat is $10 and includes a “Retreat in a Box” kit with resources, items for worship and a little bit of fun thrown in for good measure!

Clergy Retreat

As part of our Leadership Development Strategy to equip, empower, and develop Christ-formed leaders who will ignite churches in the Great Plains, we’re inviting all clergy to create a learning plan. The plan will help each pastor focus efforts for desired growth with accountability. Though not necessary, we anticipate that the learning plan could provide a conversation starter for you and your SPRC and/or D.S.

To kick us off, we’ve designed an adaptable template along with resources you could use in developing your learning plan. While not everyone is thrilled at prospect of “creating a plan” or even writing down their intended learning goals, we believe all clergy want to grow, first in their own personal discipleship and also in their ability to nurture and guide the faith of those entrusted to them. The “plan” is an opportunity for you to spend time identifying the way God is calling you to grow. The retreat will help you kick this off by:

  • Creating space for pastors to do an honest reflection
  • Introducing the stated outcomes of the Learning Plan
  • Identifying next steps in the development of an individual Learning Plan
