Great West Hispanic Ministries

Mission Statement

Making a rainbow of disciples for the glory of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

The Vision

Buenas Noticias Latinas (*Good News for Hispanics) is a Great West District ministry in Nebraska with area Hispanics, who make up the fastest growing portion of our population. Until our activities began, there had been no Good News in Spanish for the many families and “pockets” of workers.

This ministry serves two primary areas:; the Imperial area (incuding nearby communities of Wallace and Wauneta) and the North Platte River Valley (centering on the Gering/Scottsbluff area). The Imperial area ministry extends from potato operations in northern Dundy County, to Northeastern Colorado, to Southwest Lincoln County. The North Platte River valley area follows the North Platte valley from western Morrill County through Gering and Scottsbluff westward to Lyman and into eastern Wyoming.

The primary goal of the District is to establish faith communities. These small informal gatherings for scripture reading, prayer and song become the seeds for future churches. At the core of our ministry is our conviction that the Spirit will guide us in this vital mission with Hispanics in the District.

In addition to offering Good News, our ministry will provide Hispanics with an array of vital supportive services: for example, court and hospital advocacy, and financial education. We want to stand compassionately with our Hispanic sisters and brothers in whatever challenges they face.

Another major goal of the ministry is to create awareness in non-Hispanic churches of the rapidly growing Hispanic population, their culture and needs.

Centro de Alabanza y Adoracion

At Centro de Alabanza y Adoracion, Jesus’ command to “make disciples of all nations” is taken seriously. The doors are open to all who wish to share in praise and worship to the one and only true God. Services are conducted in Spanish.

Ebenezer Imperial

The seeds of ministry were planted by Patricia Gandarilla during her time in Imperial and the ministry was nurtured by Miguel and Magui Ramos (who departed in 2007) and then continued through the efforts of Cesar Duran, Andrea Palacios and most recently Elmer Acevedo.
