Aleta Hastings, 87; widow of Great Plains Conference clergy. Born May 19, 1936; died June 8, 2023.
She married Lauerence Hastings on July 10, 1953. He served former Kansas West Conference churches in Mentor, Friendship-Copeland and Belle Plaine before his retirement in 1997. He died June 26, 2020.
She is survived by her children, Susan Hastings, Sonia Schmidt, Michael (Pauline) Hastings and Cindy Morales; 13 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, a brother and sister.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 23, at Wichita Bethany UMC, 1601 S. Main. There is no memorial, but donations can be sent directly to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Winfield Veterans Cemetery or Harry Hynes Hospice.
