William Claude Fillingim, 85; retired Great Plains Conference clergy. Born December 25, 1937; died August 19, 2023.
After graduating from Asbury College, he began his first appointment in Bloom, Kansas. Following his master's degree in theology from Boston University, he served churches in Bucklin-Ford and Kingman until his retirement in 1983.
He married Anita Esplund on August 3, 1963; she died in 2015. He married Pat Sayles in 2017.
Survivors include his wife; children, Tanya and David Hein, Debra and Darin Raffety, and David and Erica Fillingim; two grandchildren, and four siblings.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 26, at First Congregational Church, 3410 N. Plum, Hutchinson, with graveside services at 3 p.m. in the Appleton Township Cemetery, Minneola. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, August 25, at Elliott Mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to the W. Claude Fillingim Memorial Fund (for the family to distribute to organizations Claude was passionate about), in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
