Dwight Lyman Ganzel, 99, retired Great Plains Conference pastor. Born January 26, 1924; died March 25, 2023.
Ganzel married Margaret Winquest on Sept. 2, 1947. She preceded him in death on April 10, 2022.
After graduation from Garrett Biblical Seminary in 1953, Ganzel served an Illinois church before becoming a pastor in the former Nebraska Conference. He was pastor at Alma-Ragan, Alma, Waverly, Oakland First-Westside, Lincoln Grace and Fairbury before his retirement in 1987.
Survivors include his children, Bill (Nancy) Childs, Julie (Charles) Willnerd, Alice Ganzel and Catherine Amis; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were April 1, 2023 at Lincoln Aldersgate UMC. Memorials should be donated to Aldersgate United Methodist Church and Heifer International.
