Jane Mitchell, 89; widow of a Great Plains Conference clergy. Born January 9, 1934; died September 5, 2023.
She married Rev. Charles Mitchell on May 27, 1954. They served former Nebraska Conference churches in Maywood-Wellfleet, Guide Rock-Bostick, Overton, Hopewell-Crab Orchard, North Bend-Morse Bluff, Weeping Water-Nehawka, Anselmo-Merna, Fairview (Central City) Archer Zion, Elmwood, Chester-Hubbell, Exeter-Milligan, Kennesaw-Holstein, Big Springs, Arnold, and Greeley-Ericson-Bartlett before his retirement in 1996. He died December 12, 2011.
She is survived by her children, Kenneth (Tammi) Mitchell and Susan (Steve) Spongberg; five children and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were September 8 at Grand Island First-Faith United Methodist Church with burial in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Grand Island.
