Rev. Loren E. Marler, 89, retired Great Plains Conference clergy. Born July 19, 1933; died June 10, 2023.
Marler received his Master of Divinity from Saint Paul School of Theology. He served former Kansas West Conference churches in Lyona, Hope-Lincolnville-Lost Springs, Tri-County, Kensington United, Ellinwood-Mount Pleasant, Sharon Springs-Weskan, Colby, Wichita University, Wichita Dawson and Quinter-Grinnell before his retirement in 1998.
He married Donna Mae Weak on May 31, 1955. She survives, as well as his children, Rev. Melanie Leigh Adams and Bradley Eugene Marler (Mona); a brother and sister; four grandchildren; one step-grandchild, three great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 16, at Salina First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Green Mound Cemetery, Mitchell County. Memorials are suggested to the Kansas Wesleyan Music Department.
