The Rev. Nathan Stanton


Rev. Nathan D. Stanton, 52, director of congregational excellence for the Great Plains Conference. Born July 15, 1969; died March 12, 2022.

He received a bachelor's degree from Kansas Wesleyan University, masters of divinity from St. Paul School of Theology and master of arts in theater from Kansas State University.

 Stanton served Wichita Saint Mark, Plains-Kismet, Anthony and Wichita Pleasant Valley UMCs before being appointed as new church development coordinator for the Great Plains Conference. In 2017 he was promoted to director of congregational excellence.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda; sons Noah, Eli and Isaac; his parents, Marshall and Janice Stanton; and siblings Eric (Judy) Stanton and Kirsten (Raleigh) Drennon; and 11 nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service will take place at 2 p.m. Friday, March 18, at Sams Chapel, Pioneer Hall, Kansas Wesleyan University. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m.
