Listening Prayer

Prayer for Reflection

The Spirit is perfectly unavoidable.
Thriving in the hearts of those who trust God.
Joyfully providing life and goodness.
A light more powerful than evil.

Scripture

From the breath of the Lord - Ezekiel 36:26-27 (NIV)

"I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws."

Prayer Practice

When you pray, spend some time praising God for God’s goodness and thanking God for all He has done for you. Then ask God for what you need. After that, get quiet. Prayer is not a one-way conversation. Make sure that you give the Holy Spirit a chance to speak. God may bring a scripture or song to your mind. God may bring a person to mind that needs prayer. God may give you direction for your day or even an answer for a prayer request.
