Mission u Events

2019 Great Plains Conference Cooperative Mission u is sponsored by United Methodist Women & Mercy & Justice Team and is open to everyone:  clergy, laity, men & women, children & youth "Learning Together for the Transformation of the World"!   Mission u offers three opportunities:  A weekday study in Salina, KS, July 14-18th for adults, children, and youth; a weekend study in Kearney, NE July 26-28th; and a mini Mission u in Topeka, KS at Countryside UMC August 9-10th. Kearney deadline is July 1st, Salina is July 5th, and Topeka deadline is August 1st, after which a late fee of $25.00 will be assessed.

Kearney weekend Mission u has been moved to Grand Island, NE, due to flooding in Kearney. Dates and times will remain unchanged, but sessions and worship will be at Trinity United Methodist Church, and rooms have been reserved at Fairfield Inn. Dean, Esther Hay, will be in contact with registrants with more detail. Those who registered to commute and now need a room, or vice versa, due to the change in location will have an opportunity to make changes through Esther Hay.

Studies will include "Practicing Resurrection - The Gospel of Mark and Radical Discipleship" with study leader, Rev. Jerry Brabec, and "Women United for Change: 150 Years in Mission" with study leaders Karen Dunlap, Lisa Maupin, and Barbara Jo Burns, and in Salina only "What About Our Money?" with study leader, Carolyn May. Children and youth will attend the spiritual growth study and have a study on "Mark".
