Parsons District festival raises money for 2 causes

The Parsons District Fall Festival was Sept. 15 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Parsons. The theme was “A Time of Celebration.”

There were 22 tables that individuals or groups had “adopted” to decorate. Jars were placed on each table for people to vote for their favorite decorated table by putting money in that jar. The three tables with the most money in their jars were the Hamilton Chapel-Ladonna Melton table, the Coffeyville Trinity-Lee and Liz Passwater table and the New Albany-Susan Galvan table.

A total of $718.04 was raised, and the funds were split between Imagine No Malaria and the Parsons District scholarship fund, which is used to help youth to attend camps and Institute as well as help first-time lay speakers attend the Basic Course.
