A four-person-format golf scramble Aug. 10 at the Quail Ridge golf course in Winfield raised $5,874 for Camp Horizon, a United Methodist camp near Arkansas City. The funds will help pay for kitchen appliances in the new sanctuary building at the camp.
A team from Chapel Hill Fellowship United Methodist Church won the traveling trophy for the best church-team score and the lowest net score of all teams.
Larry Harris, one of the fundraiser organizers, expressed appreciation to all who played, sponsored holes or otherwise supported the event.
Plans have begun for next year’s Camp Horizon golf fundraiser scheduled for Aug. 9, 2014.
