Four of the past conference UMW presidents attended the meeting: Betty Hodson, Jo Eva McClellan, Thelma Miller and Anita Turner.
At ceremonies during the final meeting, the retiring officers were honored as well as affirming the slate of officers for the new Great Plains United Methodist Women.
The day brought many opportunities to remember and fellowship with old friends and look forward to meeting new friends from the Kansas East and Nebraska conferences. A uniting conference of the Kansas West, Kansas East and Nebraska UMWs Oct. 12 in Kearney, Neb., provided a chance to get to know each other.
Diane Thompson is the president of the Kansas West Conference UMW and a member of Sedgwick UMC.
