Wespath, formerly known as the General Board of Pension and Health Benefits for The United Methodist Church, added to its frequently-asked-questions document earlier this week in response to what it said were erroneous remarks made on blogs and social media related to the upcoming special session of General Conference.
In a letter to the Council of Bishops, Barbara Boigegrain, general secretary and CEO of Wespath Benefits and Investments, directed bishops to an updated FAQ document meant to clarify various aspects of pensions and benefits for clergy based on proposals coming to the special session for consideration.
