The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) is the not-for-profit global humanitarian aid organization of the United Methodist Church that works to alleviate human suffering caused by war, conflict or natural disaster.
UMCOR responds to natural or civil disasters that are interruptions of such magnitude that they overwhelm a community's ability to recover on its own.
Visit the UMCOR website for information on how you can help people suffering from disasters and conflicts.
How to Give
Every dollar designated for a specific program goes to that program. Learn more at https://www.umc.org/en/how-we-serve/umcgiving/.
UMCOR is 100 percent efficient because they receive donations toward the cost of doing business from the annual UMCOR Sunday.
Relief Kits
Upon request from UMCOR, we will ask for Relief Kits. UMCOR Relief Kits are Cleaning Kit, Menstrual Hygiene Kit, and Hygiene Kit. It is important that kits contain only the items requested and nothing more. Please do not include any personal notes, money or additional materials. These things must be removed and will impede the progress of the shipment. All items included in kits must be new.
To learn what the current kit needs are, call 1-800-862-4246.
When collecting supplies for the kits, remember you are responsible for the shipping costs as well.
Instructions and information for relief kits can be found at www.umcor.org/UMCOR/Relief-Supplies.
