Harvesting the Great Plains: Episode 2 - Disaster Response with Rev. Hollie Tapley

9/27/2017

Our second episode of "Harvesting the Great Plains" features disaster response. This episode was shot just after hurricanes Harvey and Irma hit Texas and Florida, respectively, and prior to Hurricane Maria devastating Puerto Rico.

Titled “Harvesting the Great Plains," the new show draws inspiration from Mathew 9:37, which states “The size of the harvest is bigger than you can imagine, but there are few workers.”

Each show will feature an interview with someone who is helping with the harvest so we can make more disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. The goal is to tell stories of people and churches working in their respective mission fields and to provide information and resources vital to the mission of the Great Plains Conference.

This month’s debut webcast includes:
  • An interview with Rev. Hollie Tapley, conference disaster response coordinator.
  • An interview with Bishop Scott Jones, episcopal leader of the Texas Conference
  • A demonstration of loading a cleaning kit (flood bucket), as well as explanation of what those items are used for after a disaster.
