The Walk to Emmaus is a spiritual renewal program intended to strengthen the local church through the development of Christian disciples and leaders. The program's approach seriously considers the model of Christ's servanthood and encourages Christ's disciples to act in ways appropriate to being "a servant of all."

The Missouri River District is fortunate to have two Walk to Emmaus communities within it's boundaries. The Nebraska Walk to Emmaus community which has been in existence for over 30 years and the Heartland Faithful Walk to Emmaus which was original birthed from the Nebraska Walk to Emmaus and held it's first walks in 2008. The Nebraska Walk to Emmaus serves the entire state of Nebraska. The Heartland Faithful Walk to Emmaus serves the Omaha, Lincoln, far Western Iowa and surrounding areas.
